Hello. My name is Blaque Mackintosh, and I am a product designer and strategist.

I work in the area of productivity software, designing tools that let people get stuff done. Most recently that’s meant management systems for independently owned businesses. I’ve also worked on enterprise clinical software, online retail and inventory management, industrial workflow and task management, large-scale content storage and data search, and banking and securities trading.

If you’re working on something where success is measured in clarity, confidence, trust, and efficiency, then it’s a good match.

I got my start in visual design at a small design studio in Germany. At first this was just a way to pay my way through school — I was studying music composition at the time — but in 1993 I found my way into interaction design and the creation of wide-area collaborative tools, and that changed my career.

In the late 90’s and early 00’s I was fortunate enough to work with some great research folks, and I added ethnography to my toolset. More recently I’ve worked in analyzing market needs and unit economics, and this combined with business acumen rounded out my skillset with product strategy.

If you have a complex product and need clear leadership in your design and strategy areas, drop me a line and let’s talk.
